When Ian was playing with the grandson of William Moffett—the late director of the Huntington Library who granted scholars access to a set of Dead Sea Scroll photos he had uncovered in the library—the younger Moffett boasted, “My granddad found the Dead Sea Scrolls.” “Oh yeah,” Ian responded, “but my daddy wrote them.”
