The Melchizedek Scroll, consisting of 13 Dead Sea Scroll fragments found in Qumran’s Cave 11, contains a passage from Psalm 82: “Elohim has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment.” The scroll tells us that Elohim (“god” in Hebrew) is Melchizedek, who is also identified as the archangel Michael; Melchizedek presides over the judgment of his demonic counterpart, the Prince of Darkness.
