HEBRON’S WESTERN MIKVEH was larger and better preserved than the eastern one. Double separation walls symmetrically divided the mikveh into three lanes. The ritual bath also included a closed space (on the right) that was connected to the pool by two rectangular openings in the rock. This mikveh has not yet been completely excavated. In the center, still intact and covering the lower part of the stairs, is a Late Roman wall. This wall—a later addition—converted the ritual bath into a square water reservoir and was covered by an arched roof.
