PRESERVED IN OUTLINE is the newly discovered fifth-century synagogue at Horvat Kur. Along the length of the interior of the building’s 33-foot-long western wall (A) is a low stone bench (B) that faces a large open floor covered with gray plaster (C). Beyond the wall to the left are the remnants of the synagogue’s cobblestone courtyard (D).
