LONDON’S ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL. Home to a fragment of Herod’s Temple from Jerusalem? That is the possibility author Gabriel Barkay holds out. First built in 604, St. Paul’s Cathedral reached its fourth and current incarnation in the 17th century. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London in 1666, it was erected between 1675, when Wren’s plan was approved, and 1710. The cathedral was constructed of limestone and forms a cross, with its peak reaching 365 feet.
