Archaeologist Israel Finkelstein proposes a new, so-called “low chronology,” dating Israelite strata 50 to 100 years later than the traditional chronology. Most scholars disagree with him. According to the low chronology, the strata at Megiddo, Hazor and Gezer associated with King Solomon must instead be down-dated and linked with the Omride Dynasty in the first half of the ninth century B.C.E.
