Two married women in typical dress of the period are pictured holding gifts which they probably presented in quantity to the Church of St. Elias. According to the Greek inscription above their heads, they are Calliora (on the left holding a fowl on a platter) and the Lady of Silto, strewing either coins or perhaps berries from the sack in her left hand. The offerings depicted in these panels suggested that the church’s congregants practiced tithing.
