A well-sated goddess (center) holds a cup in one hand and a fish in the other as she relaxes on her duck-shaped throne. Behind her a male figure leads a worshiper, who is taking a small horned animal to the goddess. Before her stand what appears to be an offering table or flaming altar and, perhaps, another figure. Dating to the third millennium B.C.E., this limestone plaque, discovered at Nippur, is on loan from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the University of Pennsylvania Museum (compare with photo of limestone plaque from Ur).
