Instruments raised high, musicians parade across the walls of the fifth-century B.C. Etruscan Tomb of the Leopards, in Tarquinia (central Italy). They play a lyre and a double flute—instruments perhaps similar to the qayteros and mashroqi, which once resounded in the royal courts of Babylon during Nebuchadnezzar’s reign (compare with mural from the catacomb of St. Priscilla in Rome).
