Garo Nalbandian

Hazor is a key site for understanding the Israelite occupation of Canaan.

Excavated by the author of this article, Israelite Hazor reached its peak during the reign of Ahab (873–852 B.C.). Pictured here is a pillared building dating from that time. It was probably a storehouse in which the pillars supported a ceiling and perhaps even a second story.
